"By the way, where did you learn to draw such nice pictures ?"


uhh, been working on it since i was about 5 years old. Since i was really little and picked up pencils i've tried drawing stuff. when i was about 8 is when it really took off. i used to trace bambi over and over and over until i learned how to draw the lines in (roughly) the right places. then i'd just trace his head and do the bodies freehand and i'd make little illustrations of bambi and ferlene and stuff. i also LOVED horses so i'd trace photos of them too til i started learning their basic anatomy. once i thought i was roughly good enough i made a vow to myself ( i would've been about 9 - 10 years old at the time) to never EVER trace anything EVER again unless i was tracing my own artwork. And i've always stuck to that vow lol i seemed to like drawing anthro cartoon characters from disney and warner bros movies.

as i hit about 12-13 I was getting proper color pencils (Derwent) for birthdays and christmas, and i started trying realistic peoples faces. i'd gotten into final fantasy when i was about 10, so my first one was none other than Yuna =3

i would've come first by a mile apparently, but silly me forgot to put my name on it so they couldn't call me the winner cause they didn't know who the winner was. few days later i was chatting to a friend who was one of the judges or on the committee or something and it popped up that that was mine and she was like "OMG REALLY!?!? YOU FORGOT TO PUT YOUR NAME ON IT YOU WOULD'VE COME FIRST" lol. oh well, nice to know i would've ^^

Once I hit about 14 i started trying self-portraits and animals:

Then as I started getting into my teens, 15-16 I started discovering anime, from a new friend i'd made and japanese exchange students who were in my art class:

Which, as you can see, I was experimenting with elements. That was inspired by neopets =3 I was on there all the time at that stage and loved all the elemental faeries <3 I also did lots of roleplaying at the time o_O usually wolf roleplays. I think if i can remember, a black wolf with golden eyes hehe

Then I tried getting back into realistic faces. I did this self portrait of an image I had in mind. I couldn't get the angle of the face right, so i took a photo and made it a self portrait:

I was 16 in year 11 of highschool, which was my prime of trialling new things. I haven't got any current scans or uploads of most of these but I'm sure i have my art books from those years somewhere. I trialled all of these things i have just shown you, and i trialled using different media. Pencils, Graphite, Charcoal, Pastels, Paint. I also aquired a graphics tablet for a few months and had fun with that: [link]

I graduated when I was 17, 2007. Since then I've gone on to keep trying to improve on all of these areas. I was stuck in an anime phase for quite a few months but did a few realistic pictures on the side. There's also a lot more realistic pics from over the years i haven't put in here but there's a lot in my deviantart gallery.

I'd bought a fantasy art magazine special, it's a huuuuge special edition of a popular art magazine called ImagineFX. It had so much fantastic artwork in it and it really inspired me to keep improving myself. Then some time at the start of this year, whatever the date is that I made this account, is when I got into furries. My housemate rinatar (FA) was getting into it and it looked cool and interesting, something I thought I hadn't tried before. But then I discovered some old pics back from when I was little and remembered I'd done similar stuff ages ago XD And since then I've just been trying uber hard to improve my coloring and anatomy and techniques in various areas. I'm constantly improving =3 I have recieved a few anatomy books over 2008-2009, including a horse one, a fantasy anatomy book, and a manga "how to draw males" anatomy book. These have all helped me a great deal and what you see recently is all of these years of trialling stuff combined, and seeing amazing artists like darknatasha (FA) and alectorfencer (FA) and all my fave artists on FA, my envy and slight jealousy for their amazing talent is what keeps driving me to keep getting better ^^
